A Moment With Mama Tired But Trying

Before we share encouragement, I’d like to tell you where the name Mama Tired But Trying came from.

The Story Behind Mama Tired

If you’ve seen my journals, affirmation cards, or know of my future products, you’ve probably noticed the name Mama Tired. It’s a phrase that always makes people smile and nod — but it has a very real story behind it.

Years ago, when my children wanted to go out and asked me to babysit, I would tell them the same thing every time:

“No… mama tired.”

It started as my way of setting boundaries, of saying “not tonight,” but it quickly turned into a running family joke. Over time, those two little words became a phrase that summed up so much of my life: the exhaustion of motherhood, the responsibility, the love, and the determination to keep going even when you’re worn out.

Now, Mama Tired is more than just a phrase — it’s a brand. It represents every mother who’s ever felt stretched thin, every woman who keeps pushing forward despite the weight she carries. It’s about laughter, resilience, and honesty.

So when you see Mama Tired But Trying on a journal, a shirt, or a set of affirmation cards, know that it was born out of real life — from the voice of a mother who was tired but still trying.

If you’ve ever felt exhausted, overwhelmed, or wondered how you were going to make it through another day, you’re not alone. This page is a place for encouragement, hope, and honest reminders that even when you’re tired, you can keep trying.

With love Melissa A. Frazier (Mama Tired But Trying)

Keep Going

Life has a way of taking things we never imagined we’d lose. Sometimes it’s a loved one. Sometimes it’s a dream we worked so hard to build. Sometimes it’s our health, our peace, a friendship, a marriage, or simply the version of ourselves we thought we’d always be.

What’s hardest is that many of us weren’t doing anything wrong.

We were loving the best we knew how.
Working the best we knew how.
Parenting the best we knew how.
Trying the best we knew how.

Yet life still happened. If that’s where you are today, I want you to know something.

Don’t measure your life only by what you’ve lost. Measure it by the strength it took to get back up. Measure it by every morning you chose to keep going when staying in bed would have been easier. Measure it by every tear you wiped away and every prayer you whispered when no one else knew you were hurting.

Healing doesn’t erase the loss.

It teaches us how to carry it without allowing it to carry us. So if today all you did was take one more step…

I’m proud of you.

Because sometimes one step is enough. Tomorrow, you’ll take another.

Life Gets Busy

Some days you may only have a moment to stop, breathe, and read a few words of encouragement. Some days, I may only have a moment to write them.

Whether it’s a single sentence or a few paragraphs, my hope is that every visit leaves you with a little more peace, a little more hope, and the strength to keep going.

Thank you for spending a moment with me.

With love and encouragement,

You’re in the Right Place

If you came here looking for encouragement, take a breath.
You don’t need to have everything figured out to be here.

This space exists for gentle reminders — that healing isn’t rushed, growth isn’t linear, and becoming takes time. Some days you move forward. Some days you rest. Both matter.

Take what you need.
Leave what you don’t.
Return whenever you need to.

You are not behind. You are becoming.

With love and encouragement,

Progress, Not Perfection

There are days when it feels like you’ve worked hard but still have so much left to do. It’s easy to become discouraged when you notice every unfinished project, every mistake, or every item still waiting on your to-do list.

But don’t overlook how far you’ve already come.

The fact that you’re still learning means you’re growing.
The fact that you’re still trying means you haven’t given up.
The fact that you’re willing to make improvements means you care about doing things well.

Progress doesn’t always look perfect. Sometimes it looks like fixing one problem today and another tomorrow. Sometimes it looks like taking one small step that eventually leads to something much bigger.

Celebrate your victories, even the small ones. Every lesson learned, every obstacle overcome, and every step forward is preparing you for what’s ahead.

Don’t quit because the journey isn’t finished.

Keep showing up.
Keep believing.
Keep trying.

Your breakthrough may be closer than you think.

With love and encouragement,
Melissa A. Frazier
